My name is Josué Arcibar, but most people simply call me Josh. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A), supervised by LeAnn Solmonson, Ph.D., LPC-S, CSC. I’ve worked in mental health outpatient services at my local mental health authority, for the past couple of years. In my experience, I believe that we are all capable of extraordinary things.
I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. I am a member of the Sigma Phi Alpha Counseling Honor Society, which was a result of my scholarly excellence in the CACREP accredited counseling program at SFASU.
I understand that seeking therapy for the first time can feel intimidating and that is why my goal as a counselor is to provide a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental environment where individuals feel heard and valued. I would describe my therapy style as encouraging and genuine. Therapy can be a challenging process, so I work to help my clients acknowledge and utilize their strengths and positive qualities to create changes in their lives. I use a person centered and collaborative approach so we can identify and incorporate your functional strengths to help you take on whatever life throws at you. I think it’s always worthwhile to think about what gives your life meaning and where you want your life journey to take you, and therapy is a great space to have those conversations.
I truly love my job as a counselor, and I take pride in knowing I can help make a difference in someone’s life. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my pets Aspen and Oliver. I also enjoy traveling and immersing myself in different cultures. I am fluent in Spanish.
